Welcome To Core

The Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) was established by statutory mandate in 1991 following the liberalization of the coffee industry. UCDA is an independent public institution, with a mandateTo promote and oversee the coffee industry as a whole by developing research and controlling the quality and improving the marketing of coffee and to provide for other matters connected therewith.

Uganda exports an average of 3.5 million bags of coffee annually, Robusta contributing 80% and Arabica 20%. Most of the Robusta enter the commodity market yet Uganda has the potential to produce highest quality Robusta due to unique flavours accompanied byfavourable growing conditions, including soil fertility, relative altitude and climate. Its upon this that the centre of Robusta excellence project was established.
